3rd Grade ELA strengthens reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary, and grammar. Students explore fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and informational texts while developing clear writing and communication skills.

Topic 1: Reading Comprehension
Summary: Students read stories and informational texts and answer comprehension questions.

Topic 2: Vocabulary & Word Study
Students learn prefixes, suffixes, root words, and context clues.

Topic 3: Writing Skills
Students write paragraphs with topic sentences, details, and conclusions.

Topic 4: Grammar & Mechanics
Students practice punctuation, capitalization, and sentence structure.

Topic 5: Literary Elements
Students explore characters, setting, plot, theme, and point of view.

Topic 6: ELA Project
Students write and illustrate a short story.
